Topic: Restore all accounts and no notification e-mail

Hi,

We recently had a scenario whereby an entire server needed to be restored from cpremote's backups.  A new server was setup, cpremote installed and configured with the previous details.

However, we couldn't see the backups from within cpremote's interface in WHM.  But it did work via command line, specifying individual usernames.  Is it possible to restore all accounts in an automated fashion?

Also, I'm not always receiving the backup notification e-mail from a particular server.  This server has over 1600 domains hosted on it and can take a while to backup.  Is this likely to cause any problems?

Hi,

This won't be possible, when you consider there will be masses of data.  We simply cannot copy it all back to the new server and then start the restore process.

In our case we've virtualised our cPanel servers.  So doing this is simply not an option.

What we want, is the ability to restore all cPanel accounts, one at a time, over rsync.  Same way it does it now, except remove the need to enter each and every username ...

Our solution is to mount the backup server over iscsi.  But would still like to have the ability to restore them all, but one at a time, without the need to copy everything back over or mount it.

there are issues with nfs  in openvz server . But  restoring from all backup ontime seems the easy way . The only time you need  is to copy or rsync the accounts to your new servers  /backup folder .
