Topic: Errors

Is there a way to uninstall completely? I ran the installer when FFMpeg was already installed just not configured properly, and once it finished I was getting an error that is was looking for libavdevice.so.53 which is not on the system.. I tried uninstalling the previous version and re-running the script but it fails when it tries to install mplayer again.  I'd like to wipe everything and just start over, but am not very familiar with the command line in general..currently installed on centos. Can anyone provide any help with this?

Re: Errors

I've got it to install correctly without errors but it's looking for libavdevice.so.53, and I get ffmpeg: error while loading shared libraries: libavdevice.so.53: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

How can I resolve this?

Re: Errors

try to run   ldconfig command and check it.

Re: Errors

libavdevice.so.53 isn't on the system anywhere so ldconfig doesn't help.. Is there a package for this someplace?

Re: Errors

Can you check /usr/local/cpffmpeg/lib too ?
