Topic: Pre-Sales Questions

Hello all.
I am interested in purchasing the cPRemote backup, for both my reseller hosting servers, and my VPS clients. My Main goal to be able to provide a backup solution that does not kill the server loads, as the the internal cpanel backups do.

I have a few questions regarding the cPRemote system.
1. How much will it reduce disk I/O over the internal cpanel backup system?
-1a. What will it do for overal CPU load, during a backup process?
--1b.What methods does it use to reduce disk i/o and cpu load?
2. Can end user's restore there own backups from the cpanel interface?
3. What type of configuration requirements does the backup server need?

There is not much big disk I/O ,  it will always copu only updated files, So very low  disk I.O

The cpu is limited by 10% of the cpu

  No such option

You may need an ssh account to store the backups

Is this something you plabn to add in a near future release? Currently cpanel has this support with it's integrated backup solution.

Re: Pre-Sales Questions

One more question.
My current backup solution uses FreeNAS 8.0 to provide FTP user space, and allow me to create FTP users for each of my solusvm nodes.
FreeNAS also supports the creation of SSH users, which I understand is required for cpRemote.
FreeNAS shell operates on the FreeBSD linux platform. Will cpRemote support this?
WHat kind of shell variables are required for cpremote to function?

Re: Pre-Sales Questions

cpremote will work with any ssh account  in lniux or BSD . Just enable the common bash shell
