Hi,

We urgently need an option where clients can directly set their own rDNS.

Currently we have an arrangement with our datacentre so that all the IPs we are allocated have rDNS able to be set via a nominated nameserver.

This then just requires the zone file for rDNS like the following to be edited xxx.xx.xx.in-addr.arpa. This could be easily linked to the clients account so only IPs in their account can be edited and the admin can set rDNS for any of the IPs.

Hi,

Following my recent post we have now had a plugin developed that we are using for setting of rDNS by admin (all VPSs) and clients (only their allocated IPs). I'm willing to provide other users of vcpanel at nominal cost to contribute towards the cost of developing this.

That is great news.  A new version of vcPanel will release within 20 days. With a bunch of new features.
Do you mind to send the RDNS  plugin to vcpanel , so if you like we can add it to distribution in next release  after checking .

Yes I can do that. Please advise who I should send this to.

I'm sure you would be able to improve on it appearance. It has now also been upgraded to support IPv6. I can send the install instructions as well. It needs a VPS to be installed as a DNS server.

We already developed this feature . There will be a release in this month may be within 5 or 10 days. vcPanel EP is going to Hybrid. So you can have Load balancer features too  inside vcPanel. Your clients can simply load balance there vps.
Our RDNS  feature don't need a vps. The dns server is bind running  inside vcPanel Master itself .  Also it is full feature gui with search index and ajax update for RDNS. You can turn on and of the RDNS update for the client. Also in our RDNS it is possible to set RDN in each ips .
We also added support for IPV6 inside vcPanel too.

Hi,

This is excellent news and I look forward to the new release. I also had developed a plugin to allow the admin to search on IP when there is a spam or abuse complaint that is fully searchable to give details of who the IP is allocated to with VPS ID, email address etc.

  We are not received this new feature request till .  But it seems an IP finder is a good tool. I will let the dev team know about it.

Hello,

It means ,  If your client have two vps from you, he can create a load balancer between them. So he can host  one website in two vps .
